Questioning Your Canine Identity?
I learn from my dog whenever I look close. This particular dog’s name is Dr. Wilson (Willie). We love Willie and give him a great deal of affection regardless of his breath. The problem is that his need for affection outpaces our actual acts of affection by an almost immeasurable amount.
Needless to say this leaves Willie with an overwhelming deficit. The weight of this, in his mind, seems unbearable. That, in and of itself, is not noteworthy or even uncommon among housebound canines. What is worth mentioning is how it manifests.
Apparently Willie carry’s all of it in his noggin. The weight of all of this leaves him propping his head up on chairs, table legs, and even other dogs every moment that he is not being given affection.
His head has become so heavy with self doubt and concern that he can barely function. The only thing that brings him joy is being anywhere near a cat. Willie identifies as a cat and stands awkwardly near any cat whether or not said cat is made uncomfortable by this.
These things combined have brought forth a question. Is there any online counseling for a self doubting, heavy headed cat in a dogs body? I can only assume he is too far gone. The only future for him, I think, is being the butt of our household jokes as he rests his head from place to place waiting for his next opportunity to sidle clumsily up to a rightfully suspicious house cat for a little feeling of belonging.
We love you Willie. Just the way you are.
